Ivaylo Georgiev has been in charge of regulatory compliance at BACI since January 2018 and is responsible for compliance with competition laws and rules. In addition, Ivaylo manages the office and daily activities of the association. He organizes and participates in meetings, working groups, initiatives and events with institutions, agencies and partners on topics relevant to the cement industry. Ivaylo administers BACI’s contacts with CEMBUREAU, the European Cement Association. He also prepares, coordinates and administers letters, opinions and other documents and/or responses, as well correspondence related to the priorities and current operations of BACI.
As a lawyer, Ivaylo Georgiev founded and is the current manager of Georgiev & partners. He has many years of practical experience in various branches of law and for more than 17 years has specialised in the fields of competition law, environmental protection, waste management and public procurement. Ivaylo completed his law studies at “St. Kliment Ohridski” Sofia University in 2002. His specialised discipline at university was “Administration of Justice”, and he subsequently worked for several years as an expert in the Commission for Protection of Competition. Ivaylo continued to accumulate experience in the private sector, where he worked as a freelance consultant, key expert and/or legal adviser to a number of large corporate companies and smaller enterprises as well as individuals. He successfully managed and implemented many key public procurement procedures and various other projects and contracts. He is fluent in English and Russian. He has been a member of the Sofia Bar Association since 2017.
