Executive Director

Ivaylo Georgiev is the Executive Director of BACI, who manages the office and the day-to-day running activities of the Association, also performing the functions of Compliance Officer, responsible for compliance with the legislation in the field of competition protection. In addition, Ivaylo organizes and participates in workshops, groups, initiatives and events with institutions, authorities and partners on topics relevant to the cement industry. Administers BACI’s contacts with CEMBUREAU, the European Cement Association. Prepares, coordinates and administers letters, opinions and other documents and/or responses and correspondence related to the priorities and current work of BACI. Organizes the implementation of the decisions of the General Assembly, the Management Board and the Chairman of the Association.

As a lawyer, Ivaylo Georgiev founded and is the current manager of Georgiev & partners. He has many years of practical experience in various branches of law and for more than 19 years has specialized in the fields of competition law, environmental protection, waste management and public procurement. Ivaylo completed his law studies at “St. Kliment Ohridski” Sofia University in 2002. His specialized discipline at university was “Administration of Justice”, and he subsequently worked for several years as an expert in the Commission for Protection of Competition. Ivaylo continued to accumulate experience in the private sector, where he worked as a freelance consultant, key expert and/or legal adviser to a number of large corporate companies and smaller enterprises as well as individuals. He successfully managed and implemented many key public procurement procedures and various other projects and contracts. He is fluent in English and Russian. He has been a member of the Sofia Bar Association since 2017.
